Every number below comes from a published third-party source, applied to a typical product weight — these are estimates for illustration, not a measurement of your exact order. 1. Pens & pencils swap

Methodology & sources
These calculators multiply a typical product weight by a published emissions factor. They are rough, illustrative estimates — not a certified carbon audit of your specific order — and none of the figures below are Eco Happy's own measured impact data (we don't publish invented numbers; seehow Eco Happy works).
- Plastic production footprint: ~2.5 kg CO2e per kg of plastic (cradle-to-gate), from the UK Government's 2021 GHG Conversion Factors for average plastic film, via Climatiq.
- Paper production footprint: virgin paper ~1.0 kg CO2e/kg, recycled paper ~0.55 kg CO2e/kg, midpoints of the ranges published by EcoHedge.
- Typical pen weight: ~10g of plastic, based on a standard ballpoint pen (e.g. a BIC Cristal), per measuringly.com.
- Typical notebook weight: ~100g of paper for a standard A5 notebook — our own rounded estimate for a ~100-page notebook, not a third-party figure.
